Manuscripts must be submitted by one of the authors of the manuscript and should not be submitted by anyone on their behalf. The submitting author takes responsibility for the article during the submission and peer review period. Please note that the Koedoe levies no article-processing charge on accepted  articles. In addition, to facilitate rapid publication and to minimise administrative costs, The Koedoe accepts only online submissions. Files can be submitted as a batch, or one by one. The submission process can be interrupted at any time; when users return to the site, they can carry on where they left off.

The following legal documents need to be submitted with your submission:

•  Author Declaration and Publishing License
•  Author Account form
•  Third-party material release form (if applicable).

1. Immediate notification if submitted successfully.
2. Notification within 3 weeks if not accepted for further review.
3. Notification within 3 months if accepted for publication, if revisions are required, or if the article has been rejected by both reviewers.
4. Publication within 6 months after submission.

Note: Manuscripts are initially examined by editorial staff and are sent by the Editor to independent reviewers who are not informed of the identity of the author(s). When publication in the article's original form is not recommended, the reviewers' comments (without the identity of the reviewer being disclosed) may be passed to the corresponding author and may include suggested revisions. Manuscripts not approved for publication will not be returned to the submitting author in any format.

 As soon as the Editor accepts the article for publication, the editorial staff will copy-edit your manuscript. Once this step has been completed, they will return it to you for review. This will be the final stage at which you may make content changes. At a later stage, the editorial staff will send you one set of galley proofs, at which time you will have 48 hours to mark any typographical errors. If you do not respond by fax, email or telephone within 48 hours, the editors will assume acceptance of the galley on your behalf and will proceed with the publication process. We may not be able to incorporate your corrections in the printed version of your manuscript after failure to respond to the proofreading requests. We therefore request that you frequently visit your author home page to access the location of your manuscript, or to contact the Title Operations Coordinator.
